Common Faults and Troubleshooting Methods for Wheel Loader Drive Axles
In wheel loader drive axles, the main reducer, differential, and wheel-side reducers generally do not experience faults. However, if improper assembly or severe oil shortage occurs, severe faults may still arise, as detailed below:
1. Abnormal Noise in Front and Rear Drive Axles
Fault Characteristics and Causes:
(1) Abnormal meshing of main drive gears;
(2) Excessive clearance or damage to tapered bearings;
(3) Severe wear of differential planetary gears or washers.
Troubleshooting Methods:
(1) Inspect and adjust;
(2) Adjust or replace;
(3) Replace.
2. Abnormal Noise in Wheel-Side Reducers
Fault Characteristics and Causes:
(1) Damage to needle bearings of planetary gears;
(2) Damage to planetary gear spacers, leading to damage of needle bearings and other meshing gears.
Troubleshooting Methods:
(1) Replace all damaged parts;
(2) Identify the cause of spacer damage and replace the damaged parts.
