What is a drive axle?
The basic function of a wheel loader's drive axle is to meet the machine's travel and operating speed and traction requirements by reducing the speed input from the transmission and increasing torque through the main drive and wheel-side reduction gears. Simultaneously, the main drive converts linear motion into vertical and lateral motion, thereby driving the drive wheels and enabling the machine to travel in a straight line. Furthermore, the differential provides a speed differential between the left and right tires, ensuring normal travel despite varying resistance on both sides.
